A number of home based workers often wonder “How Can I Make Money through social networking sites?”  Lakhs of people globally check out their face book accounts through an easy internet access on their mobiles as well as pc. Out of these, many have found the answer to the question ‘how can I make money through social media networking?’

So for all the people who ponder, How can I make money from social networking sites?, here are the solutions.

It is always a great option to make social networking sites like Facebook and twitter as your platform for advertising and marketing your business online. But for this purpose, one must remember the following aspects.  People always buy products from trustworthy sources and as Facebook is a social networking site, people log on to make friends and meet people. One must understand that everything should be sold on social basis and the products should be sold only to honest people.

Being consistent in marketing and advertising is the strategy to become successful in whatever business you pursue. Thus if one is consistent with one’s advertising, a lot of people start following your brand and trusting it. This might lead you to make good money.

It is also very necessary to have a decent and professional profile picture to give a better idea of your image to people. Increasing number of friends to your profile will ensure the sales of your product so it is advisable to add more and more friends to your network. But sending requests haphazardly is not the solution. People must be interested in your product. Some social media networking sites also restrict the number of people you add every day. Thus it is better not to include more than 20 friends to avoid your profile from getting locked.

Innovative and eye catching status messages increases the number of friends and followers leading you to have a profitable business. Thus one can update unique status messages and put up a video or blog about your business. It is also possible to make a page of yourself or your brand and add people to it. How Do I Create My Own Website

A Brief Guide to Creating Your Own Website

Author: Harvey McEwan

These days it seems like almost everyone has their own website, whether they’re the head of a business, a local celebrity or even just an avid blogger, the appeal of having your own site can be very enticing. So if you want to create your own website, where do you start?

If you’ve been thinking about starting your own website for a while, you may have some specific things in mind for it, such as the way you want it to look, the URL, or even just something simple like the colour scheme of the site itself. But however you want it to look and whatever you want it to say, there are a number of things that you need to consider if you really want people to visit your site, or if you’re setting up a new business, you really want to change visitors to paying customers. Whatever your reasons for setting up a site, you’ve got to do it properly, and make sure that your site is not only accessible, but also easy to navigate, engaging, and most of all fun to use.

Depending on your own individual needs, there will be a certain type of site or a specific way that you can set up your site, and whatever you want to say or try to do with your site, there will be a site that suits you and your message perfectly. For example, if you like to talk and write about specific subject, such as cooking, films, theatre, childcare or art, then setting up your own blog could be the best thing for you to do. There are a number of sites that let you set up a blog easily, quickly and best of all for free, such as Wordpress, Blogspot and Blogger. These blogs allow you to post images, videos and written content, and they are very simple to use.

However, if you want to set up a site and not a blog, this applies if you are setting up an e-commerce site, such as a clothing retailer, gift retailer, or any other retailer, then don’t go to a blogging site, get help from the experts as soon as possible. Do your research, see what you need to do, such as registering a domain name, hiring a designer and start thinking about what you need to do in order for your site to become successful.

When building your site, bear in mind that it needs to be accessible, it needs to be easy to use, so think about how users are going to navigate it, how they are going to find what they want, and how you are going to advertise it. Once you’ve settled on a design, colour scheme, layout and graphics, such as fonts, images and even videos, then look at your site and pretend to be a user, a potential customer. Is there anything else that you could do to ensure that your customers are getting the most out of your site?

If you’re really unsure, then see if you can get some help from people who have been working in the online marketing industry for a long time and have lots of experience. An SEO company, or another online marketing consultancy will be able to help you out by giving you advice on what you can do to make your site more visible and more appealing to potential customers. The company could also help you improve your site even more by using utilising their knowledge of SEO and  SEO web design to give you the best site possible.

Remember that there are millions of related websites on the internet, so you’ve got to make sure that yours stands out.

8 On-Page SEO Elements You Must Never Ignore

8 On-Page SEO Elements You Must Never Ignore

It’s unbelievable how hundreds of online businesses tend to just disappear from search engine results. This is most likely because they do not apply any on-page SEO elements. Here is a list that consists of 8 essential SEO elements that any website owner should follow in order to increase their position on the result pages of major search engines such as Google, and of course, being more visible in search engines only means more traffic for the web page.

1. Keyword Selection and Research - Always think like the visitors that the website would most likely attract. Keywords should always be optimized to an extent where it is always associated with the information that the website offers.

One of the favorite tools in keyword research is Google’s Adwords Keyword Tool. This tool, which is completely free for use, allows a page owner to key in a phrase or word that is related to the topic of the article, and then it will search for related words and phrases that have any similarity to the searched word(s) and will then be listed down.

2. Emphasize Keywords in the URL – Before publishing a page for the readers, it is important that the URL contains the important keywords that a user might look for in search engines.

Making the URL of a page directly associated to the content is a very important factor in organization and also, the website visitors and search engines would always relate the name of a web page to its contents.

3. Optimize the Title Tab– Using and optimizing a title tag for each page is a very important on-page SEO element when aiming for a higher search-engine rank for a certain keyword phrase or keyword. The text within a title tag for a page serves as an initial factor that determines the content of the web page, and is used by search engines to determine results that come out of the SERP.

With only 10 seconds or less to attract the attention of a user, a nicely made title tag just might be the trick in increasing the chances that users will visit a web page. A title tag always should consist of a brief statement that can summarize the main idea of the page content and should be motivating enough for searchers to visit the site.

4. Emphasize Keywords Using Text Modifiers – Using text modifier tags such as the strong or bold tags to give emphasis to a keyword phrase or a keyword at least once is a very good practice.

The targeted keyword or phrase may also be italicized at least once to carry more emphasis.

5. Keyword Density Optimization – The measurement for the number of instances that the keyword or keywords appear on a web page is called keyword density.

Keyword stuffing should always be avoided while strategically putting the keyword or keywords in the start and end of an article and using other variations of the keyword or keywords where it would make sense and look natural.

6. Optimizing the Use of the Image Alt Tag – File names and alt tag attributes of images included in the website should be optimized to help in determining the relevance of the site.

Images should be named using keywords that are separated using a dash and the alt attributes should be filled out with a brief phrase regarding the image.

7. Emphasize Keywords in Headings – The heading tags, h1, h2, and h3 – headlines to a website’s content are important. The headline, which is the description of the website content, is a major factor that will affect why users will be attracted to the website. It is necessary to make sure that the headline title can reel in the users’ attention while deliberately explaining the content.

8. Proofread – Poor spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, capitalization and grammar should always be avoided. Content which contain awkward sentences, incorrect grammar, or any form of writing that is considered unpleasing to a reader is usually devalued by search engines.

Keep the content distinctive and of high caliber to increase the chances of the website to gain a higher rank in search engine results. Keeping the content accessible for the readers is also important.

So there you have it, 8 on-page SEO elements that should be taken note of in able to rank higher than the competition in search engine results for the target keyword phrase or keyword.

SEO requires full attention to the entire website. Optimizing small portions of the website and leaving other areas lacking in terms of attention to detail will only do little or hardly any good at all. It is important to make sure that when optimizing a website’s content for SEO, that it is done right and all important elements are taken note of.

What Is Grey Hat SEO?

What Is Grey Hat SEO?

Author: Toby
In this article I’ll be covering more SEO terms, (short for search engine optimisation) so here we go again I hear some of you say - “more phrases that as a beginner Ive never heard before”. Yes it’s confusing ‘black hat’, ‘grey hat’ etc its enough to blow anyone’s mind I know.

Here’s Why You Need To Know This

But the problem is certainly for Sam & I, we’ve found its not half as easy to make money online as the gurus would have you believe when they are selling you the next ’ big thing’, high ticket value product. And what we don’t want those of you just starting out to experience is what we have in the past - you put in loads of effort, think you’re doing it all the right way, then you suddenly get ‘slapped’ by Google and then realise what you’ve been doing wrong - but its just so disheartening, so listen up and don’t get slapped…

Black Hat SEO refers to techniques that go against the search engines’ stated rules and guidelines. White hat SEO refers to techniques that are A-okay. Grey hat SEO methods are techniques that make you go, “Hmm. Should I be doing this?”

Actually, most people consider grey hat to be white hat methods that are a little risky. In other words, stuff that’s not against the rules, but you feel like you should deny doing it. They bend the rules but don’t break them.

We sometimes laughingly call grey hat methods ‘future black hat’! These are things that just aren’t against the rules yet!

Here is what it all means to you.

Black hat SEO will get you banned. Grey hat might get you a smackdown from the search engines. These methods are a bit risky but lots of people use them. I’m telling you what some of them are so that you can at least know that you’re in the grey zone.

Automated Social Media

You probably know that there are software programs that let you automate your social media profile. For example, you can get 30,000 followers on Facebook or Twitter using mass friend requests.

Are you really that popular? It kind of makes you scratch your head. While it’s probably against the rules of the social media sites, Google hasn’t done anything about it yet. But obviously you’re gaming the system.

Paying For Social Bookmarking

This is a strategy that lots of people do and it’s totally grey hat. You can either pay for people to suggest your sites to others on social bookmarking sites, or you can create multiple accounts and sneakily promote your stuff. Again, the social bookmarking sites might ban you but Google won’t. Not for now, anyway.

Paid Reviews

Another form of payola is hiring somebody to write good reviews of your products or services. There’s really no way for the search engines to crack down on this even if they wanted to. Is it for real or not? But you should be aware that this is considered a little bit shady.

Speaking of payola, lots of people consider paid backlinks to be grey hat. I don’t think so. It’s definitely black hat as far as I’m concerned. It’s expressly against the rules.

Content Scraping

Using duplicate content for your site is considered grey hat. Or scraping content from other sites, even if those sites allow you to do it. Article spinning is considered by many to be grey hat because it’s creating fake ‘original’ content. Lots of folks even consider PLR to be grey hat. Basically, any method that cuts corners on creating original content is on the border of the grey zone.

Micro sites

Micro sites aren’t necessarily grey hat, but they definitely can be. Micro sites are grey hat when you’ve got a bunch of different sites all for different keywords, and they point back to your original site. Some micro sites (or ‘micro niche sites’) are simply highly targeted niche sites. Those are fine. But be aware that spiders might consider it grey hat.

Grey hat is not all bad. Some services even advertise that they provide grey hat SEO. But keep in mind that if you’re doing it, you might get slapped with the next update. Although not completely against the rules, search engines don’t like it. If you’re doing things that you think might be a no-no, you’re probably doing grey hat.

To your success

Video Marketing: How to Use YouTube to Boost Your Web Site’s SEO Rankings

Video Marketing: How to Use YouTube to Boost Your Web Site’s SEO Rankings

Author: Donna Gunter
Seeing that there are more than 20 billion web pages on the internet, the competition to get the best position on the Internet is huge. It is vital to keep in mind that there is not a single SEO technique that will guarantee you the top ranking on a Google results page. However, if you combine strategic on-page and off-page tactics in the right manner, you will get much better results. Search engine optimization is a very special skill, and to get the recipe right will take some time and practice.

There are various search engine optimization practices that you can use to noticeably improve ranking on the top search engines. Social networking is one of these. Social networking websites have become more and more important as an online marketing method and a lot of people are starting to make use of it. Most people you know will probably already be a member of websites such as Facebook and Twitter - and both of them have proven to be very effective as online marketing tools, especially since Google has begun to index Twitter status updates.

YouTube, as well, is quickly becoming a very effective online marketing instrument, since it greatly boosts the number of visitors to your webpage due to the high ranking of videos on Google. Using YouTube for SEO is one of the most effective and inexpensive techniques available currently.

Here are 3 strategies for using YouTube to boost your site’s SEO rankings:

1. Complete the YouTube meta tag data. YouTube is mostly used within the SEO context to get your website on the first page of Google rankings. The most popular videos on YouTube will appear on Google’s search results if it is properly constructed within the YouTube website. In return, when uploading your YouTube video, you may get a higher spot in the search engine results if you have entered the best keywords, descriptions and tags to help your target market find you.

2. Embed your video on your site. Another way to use YouTube for SEO is to embed your videos into your website content. If you embed the videos into your blogs or website, you increase the chances that more people will view your videos, which leads to a great increase in the popularity of your website, resulting in a higher search engine ranking. Google prefers web pages that have embedded YouTube video content into their websites, and these pages will in most cases get higher rankings than ones without YouTube video content.

3. Create your own YouTube channel. Once you have some videos, you can construct your own keyword-rich YouTube channel to house your videos. This channel contains a link to your web page and therefore adds to the number of back links that point to your website. Why is that important? Because the search engines favor one-way links back to your site from high traffic sites, and you get more search engine “juice” from such a link.

There are many ways in which you can use YouTube for SEO optimization. You must just make sure that your videos are well designed and constructed properly. Video marketing is drastically gaining ground over websites with just text content - and millions of people all over the world are watching YouTube on a daily basis. This is definately a market and a strategy that you want to tap into today.

How You Should Mix Social Media and Business In order to Ensure Maximized Profits

How You Should Mix Social Media and Business In order to Ensure Maximized Profits

Author: Mark Weyland

Even a few years ago, no business owner would bother to link social media and business in any way. Now, however, the picture has changed quite drastically. These days, business owners across the globe are turning to social media as a necessary medium for increasing their consumer bases and boosting profits. Good for you if you are one of them. You have already taken the first and most important step towards reaching out to more customers and making more profits than you otherwise could. Now, all you need to do is fine tune the relationship between social media and business, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the former.

Here are a few ways to improve the traffic your business website gets from social media channels, and ensure it stays that way:

  1. Keep an eye on the updates that are being posted on your social media channels. If you notice too many promotional updates being posted, then tell your employees to go easy on it. Promoting your own products and services too often can annoy visitors, making them avoid visiting your social media channels. And that is the last thing you would want to see happen. At most, your employees can post 2-3 promotional updates every day. Make sure that the other updates are based on interesting industry news, or even statements leading to generic discussions.

  2. If a visitor has posted a message on a problem that could be solved using one of your products, make sure one of your employees pitches the idea to him (or her). Who knows – you may end up selling quite a few more units of products than you otherwise could.

  3. If any customer has grievances about your products and has posted comments about that on your social media networks, ask your employees to deal with it in a positive manner, right away. Offer to solve his (or her) problems in a mutually beneficial way, and you are guaranteed to gain attention of quite a few other visitors. This might even lead to increased sales in the near future. It is certainly worth a try.

So, are you ready to combine social media and business, in order to boost profits? Then get to it right away. The sooner you start working on this, the better. This can increase your profits by a great extent, without requiring much investment from you. And this is an advantage that other business promotions can never provide.

What Is Social Media Marketing?

What Is Social Media Marketing?

Author: Socialfactory

If you fall into any one of the following categories, like:

  • the ones who don’t know much or anything about social media,
  • the ones who are interested but don’t know how to use it and
  • those who don’t believe in the value that a social media strategy can bring to any site or business

you must read this article to know how big a deal is social media and the enormous benefits of social media marketing.

Social media is information content created by people using highly accessible and scalable publishing technologies that is intended to facilitate communications, influence and interaction with peers and with public audiences. This is typically done via the Internet and mobile communications networks. Today this practice is being enjoyed by executives and professionals for brand exposure and marketing.

Do you make these mistakes to market your brand or services?

  • Use Yellow page ads that cost thousands of dollars, yet bring in little new business?
  • Spend money on direct mailers that also have limited results.
  • How about money spent on print advertising. How effective is it?
  • Are you spending lots of money optimizing your website but still have little traffic.
  • Spend money on Pay Per Click Advertising Campaigns, with limited results.

Can you improve your business if you know:

  • What is being said about you.
  • What your customers think about your product or service.
  • What your customers really want.
  • What your competitors are doing.
  • How to stay up to date with the latest trends and developments.
  • How to make your business more profitable.

Nothing provides a better return on investment than having a network of people raving about you and it doesn’t matter what product or service you sell. So let’s have a look onto the benefits of social media viral marketing.

The value of Marketing through Social Media Channels

Social media marketing is the process of promoting your site or business through social media channels and it is a powerful strategy that will get you links, attention and massive amounts of traffic.Social media marketing is an engagement with online communities to generate exposure, opportunity and sales. The number-one advantage is generating exposure for the business, followed by increasing traffic and building new business partnerships. It is a powerful strategy that will get you links, attention and massive amounts of traffic.

What are the benefits?

It’s natural. No doubt you get natural links, your website is exposed to a large number of people. This differs from paid advertising which has overt commercial overtones.

It’s defensible. Social communities can be a great source of web traffic on top of any traffic you are already receiving from search engines. While you can’t easily increase your search engine traffic, social media traffic can be very easily controlled through strategic marketing.

It’s low-cost/high returns. Costs are limited to only time and perhaps the expenses involved in hiring a freelance programmer/designer. The benefits will often exceed the cost. It would take you thousands of dollars to buy many links; social media has the ability to give you that for free.

It complements other efforts. Social media optimization and marketing is usually community-specific. It doesn’t interfere with any other methods of getting traffic to your website. It can and will fit perfectly with an advertising campaign targeting other websites or search engines.

There is no other low-cost promotional method out there that will easily give you large numbers of visitors, some of whom may come back to your website again and again. If you are selling products/services or just publishing content for ad revenue, social media marketing is a potent method that will make your site profitable over time.

How do I get more followers on twitter without tweeting

I stumbled upon these tools for twitter a few days ago and I thought they may be really interesting to check out.

What these tools do is, you follow people to get credits, seeds or whatever the site calls its point system and then you get people to follow you by giving them a fair amount of the points that you collected. The more points you are willing to give to whoever follows you the more followers you will receive.

There are various tools that are available for this and the more of them you use the faster your twitter followers will increase. I got 300 followers in 3 days and during those days I never tweeted.

Be warned:

  • You may need to follow a lot of people to get points, or seeds to get people to follow you.
  •  If you follow more than 1000 people in a day twitter could block you.
  • These services should not ask you for your twitter password

How do I understand affiliate marketing jargon

Think of it as another language and how do you learn a new language;

  • You should use it frequently.
  • Understand the meanings of the words.
  • Try writing about it on your blog, if you have a blog to test your understanding.
  • Find someone that you can converse with using the jargon.
  • Try finding a podcast or audio tape where the jargon is being used and listen to it as often as possible and explain to someone what they are talking about in the audio tape or podcast if they dont understand.

Affiliate: A Web site owner that earns a commission or finders-fee for referring clicks, leads, or sales to a merchant.

Affiliate Program Can also be called an Associate Program, Partner, Referral or Revenue sharing program.  In such a program the merchant rewards the affiliate for web traffic, sales or leads on a pay-per-click, pay-per-sale, or pay-per-lead basis.

Affiliate Program Directory: A comprehensive listing of merchants’ affiliate programs.  The directories are typically categorized by industry and include the typical payout or commission rates.  Click here for a sample list of affiliate program directories.

Affiliate Software:  A software program such as Affiliate Wiz for running and managing an affiliate program.  This typically includes signing up affiliates, managing links, tracking impressions, clicks, sales, leads.  This also includes paying affiliates, etc.

Affiliate Tracking: The process of tracking a link uniquely by affiliate using an Affiliate Link.

Banner Ad: An electronic advertisement or billboard such as an animated GIF, Flash Movie, JPEG that advertisers a product, service, or web site.

Charge Back: An invalid sale that results in the affiliate’s commission being forfeited.

Click-through: The action when a user clicks on a link and follows through to the merchant’s web site.

Click-Through Ratio (CTR): percentage of visitors who click-through on a link to visit the merchant’s web site.

Commission: Income an affiliate earns for generating a sale, lead or click-through to a merchant’s web site. Sometimes called a referral fee, a finder’s fee or a bounty.

Conversion Rate: Percentage of clicks that result in a commissionable activity (sale or lead).

CPA (Cost Per Action): The amount of cost for a conversion such as a sale or lead.

CPC (Cost Per Click):  Cost of an individual click when paying on a per click basis.

CPM (Cost Per Thousand): The cost of 1000 banner impressions.

CPO (Cost Per Order):  Same as CPA but refers specifically to sales.

E-mail Link: An affiliate link to a merchant site in an e-mail newsletter, signature, or a dedicated e-mail blast.

Impression: How many times a banner advertisement was displayed or viewed.

Pay-Per-Sale: An affiliate marketing program that rewards affiliates based on each conversion to a sale such as when purchasing a product or service from the merchant’s web site.  Pay-per-sale programs usually offer the highest commissions but tend to have the lowest conversion rates.

Pay-Per-Lead: Affiliate program that rewards affiliates for conversions to leads.  A lead might include a signup form, software download, survey, contest or sweepstakes entry, signup for a trial, etc. Pay-per-lead generally offers midrange commissions and midrange to high conversion ratios.

Pay-Per-Click: Rewards an affiliate for each unique click to the merchant’s web site.  This type of affiliate program is uncommon because of click fraud or fake clicks.

Performance-Based Marketing: Marketing in which the merchant only pays commissions for results such as conversions to sales or leads.

Recurring Commissions: The process of rewarding an affiliate on a recurring basis whenever the merchant charges a customer a recurring fee.  For example, a web host that charges customers on a monthly basis might reward the affiliate a percentage of each month’s payment from the customer.

Residual Earnings: Programs that pay affiliates not just for the first sale a shopper form their sites makes, but all additional sales made at the merchant’s site over the life of the customer.

ROI: stands for ‘Return on Investment’. This is what all marketing managers want to see from the money they spend on their marketing and advertising campaigns. The higher the sales, the large the number of shoppers and the greater the profit margin generated by sales – the better the ROI.

Super Affiliates: The highest performing affiliates.  Typically less than 1% of affiliates are super affiliates yet that 1% typically will bring more than 90% of your sales.

Targeted Marketing: Offering the right offer to the right customer at the right time.

Tracking Method: the way that a program tracks referred sales, leads or clicks. The most common are by using a unique web address (URL) for each affiliate, or by embedding an affiliate ID number into the link that is processed by the merchant’s software. Some programs also use cookies for tracking.

Text Link: link that is not accompanied by a graphical image.

Tracking Code: Refers to the hidden 1X1 pixel tracking code that is placed on the confirmation page of your store for tracking sales conversions.

What can I learn from Cameron Johnson

Cameron Johnson is just one of those people that you look at and you wonder how he has accomplished what he has accomplished.  He started at eight years old by the time he was 12 he had made $50000 and when he was 15 he was earning $15000 a day. By the time he left high school he was a millionaire.

Here are somethings that you can learn from him.

In most interviews he says “start small”.

  • What he means by that is we should start small so there is less risk involved and so that we are able to take the calculated risks that we choose to.
